The great thing in the world is ‘love’
‘Yes’, it is if any how
Love is powerful among the God creatures
‘Yes’, it is a special feature
Dancing trees,
Blowing wind,
Swatting rain,
Flying birds, wondering animals,
Oh! These are nature’s love
So, Powerful love is ,
So cheerful love is
While you feel it
There! Hear the lullabies of a mother
Here the cries of a child,
There is a love
Is called “Maternal Love”
Yes, you can feel
While a child is getting warmth of
Its mothers’ lap
It is the map of God
Oh! Men
See everything
There is nothing special
Without love
Open your inward eye
You will feel the real love
This world is a web
Interrelated relation with the bong of love
That’s why love is powerful
Sometimes it is harmful
When your love is unlimited
But human love is great
It is the gate of two minds
That is why
A beautiful heart is better than
Thousand loveliest faces.
Oh! Men understand one thing
If any technology is invented
There will be no one to invent
Love technology
Without God

The Beauty of Friendship (Z.Fathima Thujana)

What is friendship? Friendship is a golden chain that links two or more friends together. “True friendship comes where silence between two people is comfortable”. This is saying by Dave Tyson Gentry.
Why do we need friendship? We need friendship to share our sorrows, happiness, secrets and thoughts. Friendship is indeed the oxygen of life. If a person who doesn’t have anyone to talk to or listen to, will no doubt feel lost and lonely. Friendship is something that you can’t buy even if you have all the wealth in the world. Friendship is the most valuable thing in this world
There are many different kinds of friends. There are people who use their friends for their own comfort and benefit. As soon as their work is done, they don’t need the friendship anymore, so they just dump their friends. There are also people who pretend to be your friends. They would come rushing to help, sympathize and cry. This is because they want to establish an illusion of a good, true friend in others mind. Another group of people make friends who are rich and famous. So that they can get everything they want. All these people don’t know the real value of friendship they forget that “All that glitters is gold”
Among all these false friends, there are real and true friends as well. These are people who understand and care for you. They are trustworthy. They are the ones who encourage you to do the best, who help you in all your ways and take blames for your own mistakes. If you have a friend like this, I should say that you are the luckiest one on earth because, everyone isn’t blessed with a friend like this. True friends are diamonds, precious and rare. False friends are like autumn leaves found everywhere, there’s also a proverb “A friends in need is a friends indeed”
But, unfortunately in today’s world, it is difficult to find a good and true friend. Everyone is selfish and jealous. Why? Where are the true friends? The quality of friends is disappearing. Why can’t people try to understand each other? Just imagine a world without friends.
I simply can’t!!!
The First Wristwatch I wore (S.Rafeek)

Whenever I look at my watch, the face of Rifas appears in my mind
In 1989 I was getting ready to go to Jaffna for my A/level classes. At first my parents did not allow it, however I succeeded in my attempts by convincing them.
I informed about my going to one of my friends, Mansoor. He and his friends, Rifas who is also from my village, accompanied me to the town of Akkaraipattu. Till the bus came, we thought of having a cup of tea. We went to a café and ordered three cups of tea. While having tea, we had a chat. I was talking more to my friend, Mansoor than to Rifas as I didn’t associate with him closely before.
Once we finished enjoying our tea, I rushed to the cahier to settle the bill. Seeing this, Rifas came running and stopped me from praying. Instead he paid? I thanked him.
Then we came out of the café and waited for the bus. After some time, we noticed the bus leaving the stand. I was sad to leave my friends and my village. At that time Rifas took my hand and fastened a wristwatch he was wearing. I was flabbergasted for a while without knowing what to do. I looked at him. His eyes were wet.
Before I could thank him for presenting me with the watch, the bus had arrived for me to get in.
I had farewell to them by waving hand as words did not come to my mouth. I got into the bus and sat in the seat looking repeatedly at the watch.
I have worn many watches in my life, but the watch presented by Rifas is the most pleasing one to me

I lived beside the sea
It was full of breeze
With noisy waves
Its sand was golden
My friends and blood relations
Are very kind
The waves were like
Running white horses
We were kind to each other
We played friendly with waves
But one day
That was the unforgettable
Day in my life
On 26th of December 2004
Sunday morning at 8.50 AM
When a tidal wave hit us
Called “TSUNAMI”
We were chased to nowhere
Me and my parents ran away
I don’t know
Where it was
Now, I’m here
With my new relations
But not blood relations
I have no permanent address
My parents went some where
I don’t know where they were
They were not back yet
I don’t think
I’ll meet them again
I lost my hope.
My place is so warm
I want to be safe from harm
My lovely kind mum
I am so lonely
But, I wont stop my study
I think it’ll be only my future
Poverty is my condition
Naughty is not my instrument
I lost my nice friends
In tsunami
I don’t want anyone
Foe any more
The sea changes
Little by little
The sand is dark
Our house were destroyed
The UN vehicles supplied
Food for the little stomach
But the can supply
Nothing to this mind
I am so lonely.
But, I am waiting for my parents
In every second
In my life
UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM IN SRILANKA ( SAMSUDEEN SHIFFANA)

Unemployment has become a burning problem in spinnaker today. The number of unemployed is increasing day by day. According to a statement of the central Bank the number is around 700000a and out if this 55% are females. Also, around 80% of the unemployed are in the rural sector. Unemployment is highest among the age group of 20-3 years.
A number of factors prevailing in the society has paved the way to unemployment. Some say that this situation has been arisen due to the outmoded education system and lack of skills. The existing curriculum should be changed to suit the present day needs. It appears that there are a lot of jobs in the private sector, especially in technical and industrial sector. If lack of skills is the reason for high unemployment in the country, it is difficult to understand how a large number of people found employment abroad. It is not possible for youths to be skilled at the time they are leaving schools ot universities.
The employers should realize this situation they should be given a chance to obtain skills only by “on the job training” this is why most of the employees are recruited as probationers arrangements should be made by the vocational training Authority, Technical college and other institution to import these skills to the youths.
When we go through the employment advertisement published in newspapers.
It appears, that all the employers expect the fluency in English. Almost all the people in Srilanka can converse either in Sinhala or Taml or both. Therefore, English is not essential to carry out almost all day to day activities within the country. Under this situation, most of our rural youths are rejected at interviews due to lack of knowledge of English, even if they are very capable and have very sound educational and other qualifications, this is a very sad state of affairs. In order to overcome this problem, it is essential to draw up a special program to train the recruits to acquire fluency in English
It is said that lack of computer knowledge is also another reason for unemployment. But we see a large numbers of youths who have followed various computer courses, even at recognized institutions, still remain unemployed A large number of private sector companies, including garment factors have been closed down during the past few years. This is due to a number of factors including the North-East war. The production in these companies has considerably decreased. The agricultural sector, where there are a lot of job opportunities, too has been deteriorated within the past few years
High rates of unemployment and underemployment have very dire consequences. It leads to poverty resulting in low living standards, malnutrition and diseases and many other social problems

There are doves on the tears of blood
Every feathers run away by war - flood
Ethnic Virus gives affection to humanism
So, every man living with mechanism
Thunder also hits the cloud in the sky
He cries for the sky without shy
Why? God created sky high
Yeh! Tears of sky is a baby of earth’s thigh
Sometimes, I feared by the nature
But, it taught me lot of thing as a teacher
I learned the patient from sea
Before the Tsunami, I see
Sun removes his night dress
Wash the face and breakfasting the darkness
He starts to roam east to west
The birds and animals wake up from rest
Oh!.. Moon served as a guard last night
He is in invisible mode in light
But, sun throws his heated waves to earth
I found the reason that keeps us from death
